Saving Pakistan
This site

Pakistan is passing through the most difficult
period of its existence.  Evidence of this is clear
to anyone with even a passing familiarity of life in
Pakistan.

The extent of the decay runs the span of human
activity.  There are problems in health,
education, agriculture, and industry.  Poverty is
widespread and growing.  Insecurity is rampant.
People do not feel secure - in the streets or in
their homes.  Some parts of the country seem to
be in the initial stages of a civil war.

Our purpose, in this site, is not to cast blame and
point fingers.  We accept as axiomatic that
all
people who live in this land want the best for it
and for themselves.

We want to examine and analyse what has
brought us to the brink.  And then to identify a
way out.

We are not in the business of labeling people as
liberals, conservatives, fundamentalists, or
extremists.  We welcome anyone in whose heart
there still smolders even an ember of the fire
that burned in the hearts of Mohammad Ali
Jinnah and his colleagues.

It was not ordained that Pakistan be a 'failed
state'.  We
can make a difference.

"The
Underclass"
. An
excerpt:
The vast
majority of
Pakistanis are an
'underclass' -
people who are
not quite full
citizens.  This
underclass is
poor, and usually,
but not always,
illiterate.
